Sugar Calculator: Grams to Teaspoons
Nutrition labels list sugar in grams per 100 g or 100 ml. Enter this number and the package size—the calculator will convert the sugar into teaspoons and compare it to WHO guidelines.
How it is calculated
One level teaspoon holds about 4 g of sugar. Total sugar = sugar per 100 g × package size ÷ 100. The WHO (2015) recommends keeping free sugars below 10% of total calories—about 50 g per day on a 2 000 kcal diet, and ideally below 5%—around 25 g.
